Looking at Aerotel Terminal 3… 8 hours is more expensive than 12…

And even 12 hours at £176 is more than the garden inn t2/3 at £165…

Wasn’t expecting that. Is it considerably better? What am I missing?

I only need 7 or 8 hours to catch a bit of sleep and was really hoping to be able to roll out of bed into check in in T3 but I’m thinking I’ll have to stay at t4 for £55 at premier inn and get the train!!

Premier Inn is always best. Something @JDB & I agree on!

Unless, as sometimes happens, the T4 HIX or CP are similarly prices to the Premier Inn, as they are much less of a walk.

Would the Aerotel attempt to charge you extra if you leave early in this case?

I was at a UK Hilton and had to leave at 4am to drive to a site at 5am. Finished the work at 7am and went back for breakfast. Couldn’t get back into my room.

Apparently the night guy in the office saw me leave with a large bag (of equipment) and thought that meant I was checking out without telling him. To make things worse he removed me from the breakfast list so they also attempted to charge me for breakfast

That’s ridiculous, did he think he was the only person in the world who works anti-social hours?!

Fast check-out these days also means lots of people check out without presenting themselves at reception.

I looked at Aerotel last year for an early T3 departure, but it was about £200 for the night. Stayed at the HGI instead with an Amex offer – it was a bit of a nightmare to find initially from T5, but much easier to get to T3 the next morning!

One good thing about the HGI T2, which I only found out after staying around Christmas time, is that you can keep your all your luggage on a trolley and push it all the way into the lifts and into your room – if it’s big enough I guess – then push it back to the terminal the next day.

(I had a big room because the cheapest was £150 and a larger room was £200 so I used an Amex offer.)
