Hi
Any info would be great please.
I have a return flight booked to Antigua in June. Two UC flights London Heathrow to Antigua via Barbados.
Seats were bought using a VA credit card voucher/companion voucher.
Class G. £828 each in taxes & im sure around 95k airmiles.
Once flown are we rewarded with 8k miles each? Or is it zero as we used a voucher?
Im looking to boost my pool of miles as currently only have around 75k & no vouchers so want to buy some. The booster on my booking doesnt seem to be working neither.
Thanks very much
You’ll get Virgin tier points but no miles.
You can use points booster though to buy extra miles before or after the flight.
I booked PE with points yesterday and then used a voucher to upgrade and I can see a potential purchase of 3342+288+5071 available. Costs offered are x1 £87.01 and x2 £174.02

Thats great to know. Thanks very much for your reply.
So, you get tier points but no miles for reward bookings. Can someone explain the rules for tier points v miles when you use points to upgrade seats, rather than to purchase seats? I used points to upgrade seats on return trips from MAN to MCO from economy to UC twice in the last few months. For September’s upgrade I received no miles but the tier points of the upgraded UC seat, but for December’s trip, I received 25 tier points each way (so the tier points for the original economy seats) and miles. Can you choose whether to take the increased tier points and no miles, rather than the original tier points plus miles? I have just used points to upgrade from MAN to Las Vegas in July, and I’m wondering if I’ll get credited the increased tier points and no miles or the original tier points plus miles once I’ve flown.
If you use points to upgrade from a lower cabin, you get the Tier Points and miles from the revenue purchase, but nothing additional from the reward purchase. You only get the Tier Points (and no miles) from wholly-reward purchases (e.g. those booked in to A, P or G, and with no cash having been put toward the fare, only the TFS). You used to be able to choose, through a back office approach, but that has been killed off in recent months.
For your MAN-LAS service, you should get revenue TPs and revenue miles. Occasionally, magic happens and you get both, but don’t bank on that.
