I need to book transfers from the airport to hotel in Barcelona. I’ve not been to Barcelona before and unsure of any good companies so wondered if I could book through BA holiday partners but can’t see airport transfers on the website? Does anyone know if BA offer this or have any recommendations? The hotel is about 20 mins from the airport and would like to avoid public transport and go for a private transfer
Most hotels worth their salt can arrange for airport transfers if you contact them directly, and have the cost added to your room. I can’t say that there’s an option directly with BA.
Alternatively, Uber will do the trick.
Blacklane is decent – they operate globally. Pricier than Uber but a decent quality service. App based but you can also book via their website.
Why not just get a taxi? Unless you want to be in a flash car of course. It’s very straightforward and has an organised rank.
Every quote I’ve had for transfers with BA has been ludicrous; typically double local prices, so I’ve never bothered.
BA holidays use holiday Taxis and obviously then mark up the prices . You can book on holiday taxis website . If you sign up to news letter you get 10 % off or you can book normal rate through BA eStore portal to get extra points
Thanks all, will have a look at Blacklane and holiday taxis
Use Cabify. It is the Spanish version of Uber (which also exists in Spain) … I always use It in Madrid with no problem.
I just checked and a ride from the airport to the centre of the city is being quoted at €24.
I will drop a link here if you want to sign in (admin delete if not allowed, it just gives a €3 discount so not a game changer): https://cabify.com/i/yonathans52
Hahahah … just checked Blacklane and it is a ridiculous €144 from the airport to Avenida Diagonal. Cabify is €25.
Unless you like to be picked up on a Merc to feel important I don’t see why you will want to use this app vs the many options in Spain (FreeNow, Uber, Cabify). The cars are the same as there aren’t that many licenses like in the UK so most cars are larger saloon and not Priuses like in London.
Anyhow, there are those that do like a bit of luxury … but seriously I would save my money and spend it on a good restaurant / bar instead!
Taking a taxi from the rank is really easy and you won’t get ripped off. You also don’t have to find / wait for a prearranged car.

@ChrisBCN – Do you know the likely cost of a rank taxi from BCN to the Sant Marti district?Just under 30 to the start of the district, 35 ish to central Poblenou, 40 if you are going as far as Diagonal Mar. A little more at night time.

Wonderful, thank you.

FreeNow in Spain allows you to order both normal cabs and private rides (a la Uber). The cool thing is that when ordering a cab the fare is the prearranged fixed fee or lower meter reading (they take the risk of a higher fare somehow).
At least that is how it used to work in Madrid.

Yeah FreeNow is a good solution for when you are in an area with no cabs passing by. If anybody wants 5 euro free credit, you can use my link https://mytaxi.onelink.me/HySP/568d1ef4

I’m a fan of FreeNow too, but only really use it when o can’t flag one down on the street. If anybody wants €5 for signing up feel free to use my code! https://mytaxi.onelink.me/HySP/ea2192bc
