Hi All – I am trying to book a flight DOM->MIA on 14-Nov for 2 people

The flight is operated by American Airlines and via the AA website there is availability to book via points.
Unfortunately I do not have any AA points and Amex points can not be transfered into AAdvantage accounts.

This flight does not show up when I search for reward flights via, BA, Iberia, Qatar, Cathay Pacific etc.

Does anyone have a suggestion how I can book the flight using either Avios/Amex points?

    thanks!

The buckets Airlines use are different for other one world partners, so they might release 3x seats for their own members but only 1x for BA etc

AA only releases its lowest level of reward seats to partners which is why it isn’t visible on other airlines.

The ones you are seeing on AA are for their higher level of points.

Your only route that I know of is to transfer MR to Marriot 2:3 and then Marriot to AA at 3:2.

Can’t see this being cost effective and it would take a min of 3 days to complete. Factor in the marriot to airline bonus for tranferring 60k points at at time

I can see why you want to with flights being $572 one way, if you can fly on 13th it’s much cheaper in terms of AA miles.

    Thanks for the replies all.

Looks like I’ll be paying cash

@dqvefl FYI Marriot to Aa coverts at 3:1. CRIMINAL!

sorry yes, was a typo. 3:1. The only real value from marriot to an airline is to United, and especially with the current 30% bonus from United themselves.

It may be worth waiting closer to the date as seems to be some next week but not next month?
