Amex Gold – when do annual spend bonuses post?

Could anyone let me know when the bonus points (upto 12,500) are credited into the account? Is it upon anniversary?

I thought it was 2.5k for each £5k spend (up to 12.5k/£25k). And they post as soon as you hit each threshold, this was one of the benefits of the changes, as you don’t have to wait until the anniversary date to get the bonus points.

I’ve had my first four and I’m sure the fifth will be along at some point although I’ve stopped spending on it (other than weekly online Tesco shop) as I’m now going for BAPP voucher again.

For what it’s worth, I feel the best strategy is stopping at £25k now on the Gold card as that gives 1.5 membership reward points per £ spent. But past £25k it’s only 1 which isn’t great. I’d rather have the 1.5 Avios from BAPP.

Yes, my current strategy (having hit £10k on my BAPP, my wife’s BAPP and my Virgin card) is to do £25k on my wife’s Gold. I can’t beat 1.5 points per £1 elsewhere.
