After numerous comments on here I decided to include it with my retention conversation, essentially saying what I considered to be a guaranteed cashback could no longer be relied on.
They apologised and raised a ticket on my main card and the Harrods £48 (per card) CB I was waiting on for two months was received a couple days later and then a day after than £48×2 for spend on supplementary cards.
so learning point for me – after starting another chat and then got several stupid questions I gave up and rang the platinum helpdesk. Even though i think the guy was overseas, he fixed it in 30 seconds and reissued another card.

Agreed.
I just called. Asked if the rep was Brighton-based. They were not but said they could still see my account and could help with my query (without knowing what it was). I just said no, please put me through to Brighton.
I don’t know if they could have or not, but I wasn’t going to waste my time and theirs.
Brighton rep answered my question in less than 4 minutes. Clear, concise, perfect!
Another data point:
Raising a query about a missing statement credit for Shop Small via chat.
Transaction made on the 15/12/2022.
Denied!
Qualifying purchases must be billed to your Card Account by the participating small business before the Offer End Date. If the small business does not charge your Card before the Offer End Date, your purchase will not qualify for this Offer.
You can go online to check the offer terms as well.
But I’ve made the transaction on the 15th?
I completely understand your point, However as per the offer terms the spent must be billed by the offer end date. Since it was posted on the card after the offer end, this transaction does not qualifies for the shop small offer benefit.
We being transparent have mentioned the terms of the offer at the time of offer enrollment and is available online as well.
Will still raise this as someone hasn’t received his training…
So much work!

My usual approach is wait 2 weeks after the transaction posts then raise a ticket and it arrives a couple of days later. This is the new normal for Amex offers and unfortunately another admin task for us – although some do still pay out after a couple of days so don’t need chasing.
