Amex Plat new joiner bonus vs refer a friend

Hi, Looking at getting the Amex Platinum. I see there is a currently a sign on bonus of 50k. I also know that if I am referred but a current member they get 12k point and I woudl get get 55k points.

I was going to hold out for when Amex run the 80k bonus.. Now the question is: Do you know if they also increase the bonus if you are referred ? ?

Refresh your cookies or try a different browser – Amex currently offer 70k points on Platinum when I check and it says the offer is tailored based on cookie preferences (not from a referral link).
