Amex Transfers to Virgin – “Instant”

Whenever I have transferred MR to Virgin, these have always been instant as advertised. Sent some points across this morning to take advantage of a voucher whilst on the phone to an agent (once I had confirmed pricing), and the miles didnt appear immediately.

So that was 2 hours on the phone wasted.

Several hours later, the miles are still AWOL. I have had the Amex confirmation email, and Amex CS just tell me to ‘give it 24 hours’.

Clearly these are no longer instant – anyone with recent experience?

My transfer 10 days ago was instant. Sometimes it just takes 24 hours. Look in virgin red they usually show up there before they show in virgin account.

Also you can book the flight and put it on a 48/72 hour hold while points show up so that you dont lose the seats.
