Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club (Another) 2 for 1 question

    Hi all. Just want to make sure that I’ve got this straight.
    Looking at CW to SYD using a 2 for 1. LON based, but availability only from the regions, and on the return only from SIN. So I’m looking at booking BHD-SYD, SIN-LHR//LCY-EDI, so can fetch bags in Heathrow. A few questions;
    The return is using the extra 2 for 1 availability so I have to book it as one trip. Can this be done by chat or only on the phone?
    If availability opens up on SYD-SIN, is it easy to add it on? Presumably just the £35 pp plus extra avios and fees.
    Finally, if QR or something else opens up for the return, can the BA return simply be removed for a refund of avios plus fees (minus £35pp).
    Thank you

    When is this for, are you sure there’s no PE availability on the return which would be much simpler?
    You’d have to cancel and rebook to make the change so risk the seats not going back into the inventory. If possible, I would personally book the 2 legs separately then call for half the avios back on the return leg. You’d then still have 2 bookings so would only have to cancel the return if SYD seats appeared. I have done something similar in the past with trips to the Caribbean returning from the US, so I know it’s possible.

    Also – you would need another unused voucher to check whether extra availability from SYD had been added, unless you’re relying on asking here!

    It’s for January. Only business available.
    Could SYD to SIN be added on without changing the SIN LON? So ticket would look BHD-SYD, SYD-SIN, SIN-EDI on one 2 for 1 booking?
    There’s no non 2 for 1 availability so I can’t book and get refunded the points.
    Should be getting another voucher soonish. Don’t want to overburden the forum ;).

    I’m pretty sure they can only cancel and rebook. But you might want to make a decision before the seats get snapped up by other people!

    Edit – had a quick look out of interest and there are CW seats SYD-LHR-MAN on Jan 31st, if that’s any use to you.

    Thanka for the help, tickets all booked. The bonus availability from the regions surprised even the agent on the phone.
    One final q (for now). Is the cancelation fee for a European RFS £1 even if a more cash expensive option is chosen?

    It’s technically £35 pp but since the pricing changed people have been charged only what they’ve paid, or sometimes nothing at all. You’d have no comeback if you were charged £35 pp though, so I’d count anything less as a bonus!

    Glad you got your seats. I should start charging commission!
