Have a chunk of Asia Miles which I originally transferred from Amex for some Qatar flights before Qatar adopted Avios. It’s now better value for me to use Avios via QR as taxes on the same route are 1/3 of what Asia Miles want.
I’m now sitting on all these Asia Miles and don’t suppose anybody has some recommendations on some good value routes they’d recommend? Any sweet spots?
Thanks.
You didn’t give us any information about your travel preferences to help us assist you. However, Asia Miles are incredibly valuable and powerful. Particularly the OneWorld multi-carrier awards. They allow for itineraries up to 50k miles on 2 OW partners alone, or 2 + CX. Stopovers, transfers and open jaws are all allowed. All very flexible but your trip must end in the same city it started.

Yes sorry, anything in business, and pretty open to anywhere in the world. Happy to position out to Europe if works out favourable.
There are 280,000 Asia Miles in the account for 2 people. Can top up if needed.
I did not know about how flexible they were but this sounds like a strong benefit.
I’ve also speculatively sent a few thousand MRs over to Asia Miles. I’ve made no redemptions yet, the appeal was
– lower taxes/fees/charges on many routes than BA Avios, eg transatlantic, can make some redemptions cheaper in cash terms
– origin-to-destination pricing, not sector+sector, can make some redemptions cheaper in miles terms
– I a very long term goal to go round-the-world on their multi carrier ticket, which seems like great value… by the time I get round to redeeming no doubt all the rules will have changed of course!
@memesweeper, good luck with that. It’s a shared aspiration. I’ve done RTW before but it was many moons ago. I would like to do another, Rio to Rio, entirely within the southern hemisphere as I’ve never got to Australia or NZ so far.
@BJ thanks — that’s pretty much my plan, thus far I’ve barely touched the Southern Hemisphere 🙂
