I did all my Christmas shopping on the 9th of November last year to utilise the Black Friday deal of + 50% bonus and although all transactions showed as pending (and are still showing as pending in my account) the site blocked some due to ‘unusual activity’. I’m still chasing the ones they are holding back over 100 days later! Any suggestions folks? We are talking over 4,000 points, not including the Black Friday bonus!

I’m still waiting for the points from a Hilton stay last July. I chase once a month and just get generic replies. Still shows as Pending. Pretty much given up now.

Keep chasing but treat it like a bonus rather than an absolute entitlement. I’ve had points awarded for Marriott bookings after more than a year waiting.

Thanks Indy500, I usually use Booking.com and must admit I’ve never had any issues over the years, I do get replies with all sorts of different excuses, platform migration, unusual activity etc… I got some of them awarded but the ones outstanding the most recent reply is they are waiting on the companies confirming the purchase, load of rubbish! the companies would have confirmed the transactions way back in November … so my recent email called them out on that!

Thanks TJ, my biggest bug bear is when over a year later, they come and take the points that were awarded back off me saying that the transaction no longer is valid for the award… when I question it I get things like, you must have returned the goods, I’m like.. no I didn’t.. you want a photo of said items! Brick wall and head comes to mind. Complaint letters go unanswered.

@Lindyloo They declined my Hilton transaction a few years back saying that I didn’t stay at the hotel despite me sending them a copy of the paid folio and a screenshot of my hilton account showing the points awarded.

Never used estore again after that. TCB in cash is a far more lucrative return than a few avios

Just looking around at potential cashback routes for booking.com and both TCB and QC have removed it from their platform. Virgin have a variable offering depending on the country you stay in, which is terrible for the USA, so I ended up on the estore out of desperation.

Was shocked to see this – Please note: we have been provided feedback from Booking.com that the rates can vary between desktop and mobile devices and that there can be instances where the rates differ due to other initiatives or experiments that are not reflected in the joint platform of Booking.com and us. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

So basically washing their hands of any issues caused by the affiliate but don’t have the guts to pull the offering like the other sites.

I have chronic problems getting things to track in TCB yet ebay purchases track each time without fail! It’s so erratic that I tend to first look on Avios e-store if the same product or service is available there and if the earning rate is half decent I’ll choose that instead. Having said that TCB customer service is helpful and prompt but I think their hands are tied by uncooperative merchants with either poor IT or are just looking to get out of paying.

Conversely I’ve received the expected bonus for Booking.com on Avios e-store each time and fairly promptly after completing the stay at that.

I’ve had 29 IHG, Marriot, Hilton, Hotels.com (plus loads of viator, Budget etc) track and confirm/pay successfully since last april on TCB.

Only one failed to track and the claim was successful.

My method- disable my network ad blocker, Use Chrome, clear all cookies for all time. Login to TCB, accept cookies, click through and accept cookies. They’ve mostly recently been tracking within 5 mins. QC OTOH is still crap.

Good tip. Perhaps the secret to successful tracking is to keep a browser exclusively for tracked purchases with no ad blocking and clear cookies before proceeding. I think I’ll put this into practice. I don’t use Chrome so I’ll start using that in these cases.

    Exactly that!
