Forums Payment cards American Express Applying for multiple Amex cards – welcome bonus offers

Hi, I now have two years without any Amex personal card, so have followed the guide for maximising the welcome bonuses (starting from scratch) here https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/09/18/what-amex-sign-up-bonuses-are-you-still-eligible-for-4/ and applied successfully for the Nectar card.

For the second card (BAPP) I have an offer of an enhanced bonus of 60k points valid till 8th Oct, which Id like to take up..

My concern is however, if I apply for that now will I loose the welcome bonus on the Nectar Amex card?
It all comes down to whether the “if you have not held a personal American Express Card within the previous 24 months” is measured at the time of applying, or at the time you hit the spend target/ achieve the bonus.

Would appreciate if anyone has experience of this or knows the answer, have searched for terms and is not clear to me.
    Thanks

No you wouldn’t lose the bonus on Nectar as you were eligible when you signed up. Applying for a BAPP after that should make no difference

As long as you can spend the £7k in 3 months then all good.

Don’t worry – it’s at the time of applying – go ahead with your BAPP application! Also, don’t forget to set-up a supplementary cardholder each time (not at time of application but after) for the additional bonus points.

Thanks both for the quick replies, appreciated. Fortunately or unfortunately need to get some repair/renovation works done at home and can put the building supplies on the cards (where they take Amex), so good timing for the spend.
