Are weekend trips (with 5 nights car hire booked) eligible for double TPs?

Hi Everyone

I was wondering, if I booked a short trip or 1 or 2 nights, but booked car hire elsewhere for 5 nights, making it a BA Holiday, would this technically be eligible for the double tier points offer?

How are you going to book that? Are you planning to book flights first and then add car hire afterwards as part of a linked transaction? If you do then it won’t work as you have to book the car hire at the same time as the flights. The T&Cs state to qualify it has to booked at the same time not separately after flights. Also I’m not sure how you can book a car for longer than the return flight duration unless you do it in two steps.

You can select whatever dates you want for each segment, but as I posted in the dedicated thread, I’m pretty sure the most important factor for the 5 night requirement is the actual flight. You might get away with 5 nights flight and 2 days car hire/hotel, but not the other way around.

I do know about customise my trip but I don’t know how to use it to book a return flight for 3 nights away and add a car for 5 nights. I have used it to add two cars to a trip before and had flights where I booked a hotel for only 1 night.

Is it possible to even book what OP wants using that customise my trip option? I don’t think it is other than to book the flights and then go back in and book a car elsewhere for 5 nights making it a linked booking. But as I said originally that won’t work for the double TP offer.

Yes because with the customise option you select the dates of each element to match your needs. One night hotel here, three there and another somewhere else.

When @JamesNCL says “book elsewhere” I he actually means booking flights to say Berlin but the car for London and not booking the car with Avis and getting BA to link the together to somehow create a holiday.
