Hi all,
Given the abandonment of normal travelers by BA, I have been looking for opportunities to use up my remaining Avios. One is a flight to Dublin before a flight to the middle east for half term with my son. I had booked this in business as this was the only thing I was able to find, but was curious if additional seats open up in the days before the flight, how the change process works. I recall there being no real penalty from cancelling avios tickets but was a policy that had changed, but that potentially making changes was still almost ‘costless’. Can anyone confirm?
Yes, this has now changed, It used to just be 50p to cancel, because of some kind of glitch in the technology. Now it’s back to normal fees of £35 or the cash element paid, whatever is the lower amount. So if you bought a ticket for £20 and 12,000 Avios, the cost would only be £20.
