    Hi , apologies if already answered elsewhere, I couldn’t see it.
    I plan to book 2 Barclays reward flights from london to cape town (if available). My question is whether I can subsequently change the name on the second ticket (I will travel in all cases and will either be daughter or wife that takes the other ticket)
    As it is necessary to book so far in advance I wanted to know if the name change is permitted
    Thanks

    You can make a name change for example if it’s been spelled wrongly or changed due to marriage, but I’m not sure you can change the actual person who’s travelling without cancelling and rebooking! Hopefully someone here will know – and I imagine it will be somewhere on ba.com as well.

    @northernlass
    Thanks – it’s the full name change that I’ll need and I would be worried that cancelling and rebooking would mean I lose the ticket. (Unless this is a phone call to an agent who could simultaneously cancel and rebook?)

    Sounds like you need a passenger change, rather than just editing a name (and you’ll want to be clear on that when you call BA, because saying “name change,” to them will mean something different).

    From experience this is a cancel, hope your seats go back into inventory, rebook situation. The rep I dealt with could not guarantee the seats would be available until after the cancellation had been done. Unhelpful, but understandable as it’s not the phone reps who run the algorithms to decide when seats become available for points.

    Good luck, and do let us know how you get on
