Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Booking an Avios redemption in Aer Lingus business class

Reposting in the BA thread hoping someone can help

    Hello fellow HfPers

I’ve been trying in vain to find reward availability in business class for an Aer Lingus redemption Dublin-Boston or Shannon-Boston. Initially searched in June but went as far back as April and nothing. Plenty of economy availability but from my search on avios.com, BA and even United, absolutely zero business availability. When I go to make a cash booking, completely empty business cabins galore. Have Aer Lingus not released their business reward seats? Are they hiding them until the last minute?

Just to be clear – I’m looking to book a reward seat, not a part pay with avios seat. Trying to scoop up those lovely low Irish fees and taxes! Have also considered Iberia, but product looks sub par and Ireland more convenient as Mr lives there and ideally we’d fly together.

Any tips on where to find these hidden business class seats greatly appreciated.

I imagine that’s a VERY popular route and also don’t Aer Lingus not actually guarantee any business award seats and sometimes only release 1 per flight?

No guarantees that Lingus releases seats.

For clarity, when you say you’ve tried BA, do you mean you’ve called or just looked online? ba.com does not show Aer Lingus seats – a call is needed. The availability bears no resemblance to what United or avios.com sees.

You will really struggle to find any Business seats on those routes. The only additional comment I would make is that those are probably the shortest TATL routes anywhere and Economy travel isn’t that much os a hardship with availability usually very good.
