Thanks to @philuk for highlighting this yesterday but I thought it might be worth its own post.
Anyone thinking of subscribing for Avios has until the end of the month to get the current pricing – On 1st May all prices are rising so Adventurer Yearly up by £200 to £1,989.
Old and new prices here:-
I spotted this yesterday too. Am very tempted to bag the annual 200k. Almost all of my flying post-pandemic has been CE/CW via Avios (I don’t even have any BA status) and I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to use them…
I suspect I know the answer to this, but I can’t find it in writing anywhere.
If we subscribe now with the old pricing, do we get to keep that in 12 months time, or does the pricing change to the new pricing?

It’ll renew at new rate.
Thanks for flagging. I’ve been planning to buy and was just waiting as didn’t want to trigger the new 241 voucher yet. Could well have missed out if I didn’t see this post so much appreciated!
Can anyone confirm if you get triple points if you buy with the BA Premium Amex?

I’d also be interested in finding this out if anyone knows?
That was answered in the comments on yesterday’s article about this.
I haven’t been able to find the answer to this question;

Just checked yesterdays article comments and it is awarded the standard 1.5 Avios.
I can confirm the Avios subscription purchase goes through at the standard rate. You are buying the Avios from Avios Group Ltd Crawley, not from BA.
I’m looking to sign up for this subscription at the lower rate before 1 May but I keep getting a technical error message on the part of the site where the subscription is. It forces me to log in again (even if I’ve logged in elsewhere on BA) and just keep saying “We are having technical difficulties verifying your credentials, please try again later”
Anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve this?

For anyone else having this issue, the trick is to try logging in using your BA Executive Number as the username rather than your email…
Have been looking at this over and over again since Rob’s article and this thread and have decided to grab the 50,000 Annual subscription.
So, for as long as there is an Avios tickets available, I’m basically locking myself into a five fares of £125 for a domestic economy return. As the 2 return flights to EDI I’ve just booked using Avios would have been almost £400 each – I’m sure that I’ll get good value out of the £455.
I’m intrigued about this statement on the subscription page though:-
Planning on subscribing? If you do it before 1 May 00:01 BST, the price will stay the same throughout your subscription. The price change depends on the currency.
I’m interpreting that to mean that the price will never rise at renewal. Will find out next April.

I think that comment is re the monthly payments. The price for both Annual and monthly will be at the new rate from point of renewal

No, you’re confusing auto-renew with discrete subscription periods and will be disappointed by your unrealistic interpretation.
Auto-renew will start a new subscription at the end of the twelve month period at the new, higher rate.
