If you have status with avis car rental and book via the avios / ba executive club site can you still avail of your status benefits or must you book directly with Avis?

It asks you for your Avis preferred number during the booking process these days, so your status is applied and you can see your booking on the Avis app as normal.

So you can still go to the counter and ask for your upgrade and extra driver as a president’s club member and booking through the avios ba executive club makes no difference?

I queried Avis this week about an upcoming booking. Was expecting to be able to add my free additional driver (President’s Club) when booking but it kept on wanting to charge me £45. They have said that this can only be applied when collecting the car – and there will be no change fees on this.

I believe you get a free additional driver in any event when booking an Avis vehicle through Avios / BAEC.
