    Just got this from BA:

You can now multiply all your unboosted Avios you’ve collected from 2023 by 1x, 2x or 3x. That’s the whole year’s worth, rather than the usual 30 days. But only until midnight 13 January.

    Notice:
    – only unboosted avios
    – it includes offers like the Barclays 100,000 bonus

    Ups, missed that one

On till midnight on the 13th. I can boost my 70k BA amex bonus.

Interesting. My 3x boosted cost is £11,625.79 for over 800,000 Avios.
It doesn’t seem like a good deal (1.45p per Avios?) unless I just needed a small top-up.

Edit – actually, if I boost less, it comes to about 0.9p/Avios. So boost less than 300,000 Avios it should be OK.
“The first 300,000 Avios boosted per calendar year are priced at our cheapest buying rate.”

You can only boost 300,000 Avios per calendar year, after that the price almost doubles.

I see this has now made it to the front page on hotukdeals, where the crowd seems divided between either: those contemplating spending several thousand pounds without knowing what kind of return they will get, and those absolutely convinced Avios is a waste of time 🙄

    Has anyone pulled the trigger?

Yep, some of them are hilarious.

I’ve ‘pulled the ‘trigger’. We need 400k Avios for an around the world adventure next year and using Avios at .92p each is way cheaper than round the world business class fares.

    Well done! Enjoy

Also ‘pulled the trigger’. I must have had a 20,000 sub last autumn sometime, so have boosted it to 60,000, just hope I can find something worthwhile to spend all these points on. Assume I have received 0.92 like everyone else.

    Yip, 170000 avios for £1580 (.93p each).
Enough to book 2 business return flights DUB – DOH on Qatar for March (plus £300 in taxes).
    So £1580 + £300 = £1880. Or £940pp.
The cash price is £3500 each!
No brainer – Economy was £587!

Trying hard not to speculatively purchase 300k Avios through the boost (Mrs Aston called me a FOMO the other day).
They’ll get used up eventually, but I’m slightly worried about a devaluation.

I’m the same but I’m sitting on 500k and have all my avios bookings sorted for this year already. I would be nervous of shelling out a load of cash then BA having a mwah ha ha moment and pulling a devaluation. Throwing VS into the mix means avios are lasting longer these days!

If I want to maximise the offer and do the full 300,000 Avios boost then it seems I need to solve a knapsack problem to select a subset of my earning transactions that sum to 100,000!
