  • 9 posts

I dont know if anyone has tried i cant see any posts on the subject, but since removing the depart/return to the UK clause with the new style 241 voucher, i assume its possible therefore to do say DUB – NYC/NYC – LHR? Also has BA.com ever calculated a mixed carrier reward fare always seems to error if selecting an AER/IB then a BA when doing a round trip booking.

You’ll need to call to book and it’s perfectly possible. There are quite a few posts but mostly around Iberia.

Online BA usually can’t cope properly with mixed RFS/non RFS, particularly with mixed carriers. Even when calling, they can come up with totally rogue charges so it’s good to have an idea of what you think they should be, although it’s rarely as simple as adding two one way prices or halving a return.

Mixing Aer Lingus with BA resulted in them calculating and quoting the taxes of the equivalent cash ticket (+ the avios at the discounted 241 rate). In the end they wanted over £1,600 in taxes at the highest avios rate! I declined.
