Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club BA Amex – Help us improve our services – survey

Just had a survey through asking about my experience with the BA Amex card which has lots of questions about the Tier points offer. Looks like they are gauging opinions in order to tweak it and bring it back hopefully.

One of the questions asked if you would pay an additional card fee for status. Interesting idea.

The “ideal” BA card for me would give a leg up for status or a companion voucher at £ X spend, and another bite at £ Y spend. Sometimes you want a voucher more, sometimes you want status. Enables the consumer to prioritise the benefit they really value.

Agree would happily exchange my voucher for 300TP 😉

As a soon-to-be retiree, I will not overly care about status so anything that offers flexibility of rewards would be good.

Swapping a voucher for some sort of status would be a good move. I’m drowning in vouchers!

Also got this survey but didn’t open it immediately just in case it was very well targetted phishing!

I will take a look now.

However I’d say status (and therefore tier points) are only of high value if not flying Club anyway. If all travel is in Club, then I’d rather have a 241 voucher than TP. Otherwise it only comes down to advance seat selection… which would be nice to swag through credit card spend/status, but not a deal breaker.

I also suspected phishing but the questions are clearly market research. BA should have sent it out from one of their own accounts though – will put off a lot of people responding.

FWIW, my survey was just about my Corporate Amex. The only value I get from that is that it slightly reduces the pain of Concur expenses.
