I have a 50 pound BA Amex discount on Hilton bookings above 200 pounds that I need to use by end of May. Does anyone know if this is cumulative?
I have contacted the hotel directly to process my payment in order for me to get my cashback. However, they said they cannot take a card payment using my details but can send me a link to pay. Does anyone have an experience on if that will trigger the cashback? Thanks so much
Usually the amex offers have wording in them like this:
“Purchases made through “payment facilitators” are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer. A payment facilitator is an intermediary that accepts payments on behalf of the seller of the goods/services. Payment facilitators can include some online payment platforms/ marketplaces, and entities that provide certain card acceptance products (such as mobile card readers) to sellers of goods/services”
@sm, would it work for you to book a non-refundable rate? Hilton takes payment for these immediately these days, I got my 2 x £50 well before my actual stays on the recent offer!
Thank you for your replies. I suppose I could, but then if I cancel the trip… definitely worth thinking about though. Thanks again.
Sorry quick question – does the Amex Hilton offer get repeated throughout the year please? I think I remember one shortly before the current one came up but I could be getting confused with IHG / Hyatt etc… thanks in advance.
Yes it’s normally a couple of times per year.

Ah thank you 🙏

It’s risky but it may still work, you would have to tell us the actual hotel, or what payment processor this link goes to, to see if anyone knows more.

Yes, for the European hotels where the offer is valid, many hotels do take the payment very quickly after booking on prepaid rates, but it’s still up to the individual hotel when to do it and they could choose to wait.

Thanks John. It’s for the newish Motto Hotel Rotterdam.
Is the BA Amex hilton offer valid for Hilton point purchases?
No.
@sm – my last 4/5 bookings have been non-refundable and payment was processed immediately like any standard Amex transaction. Hotels included DT and HGI in the UK, Hilton in Vienna.No.

Took the plunge and did that too and can confirm the card was billed the next day. The ‘offer’ has disappeared from my saved offers so all looking good. Thanks again
Does anyone know if an amex spend in a restaurant of an eligible Hilton trigger the amex offer?
Usually – as long as you can charge it to your room and pay with your final bill on check out, it works.
