Forums Payment cards American Express BA Blue to BAPP approval but increase of limit question.

  • 859 posts

Wife had BA Blue and fully approved to BAPP. Wanted to increase limit and is being asked under “please input your salary” her salary of 32k from last years application, rather then the new 35k minimum they want now for new applicants. Is she ok in putting this lower amount or should we abort the limit increase and not rock the boat?

ps: in case any wondered, BA Blue to BAPP never asked for anything regarding a wage, it just successfully upgraded.

My inclination would be to leave well alone. There’s nothing to suggest that the upgrade route is or is intended to be a back door to bypass the minimum income requirement. The fact the upgrade was accepted or “fully approved” doesn’t really mean much.

We have seen a few cases recently where people are approved, essentially because they pass initial identity and address checks etc. but later get asked for more information about their circumstances or income. There is more than one layer of checking.
