Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Is there any way of cashing out a British Airways eVoucher?

I recently booked a flight partially paid for with eVouchers, the flight was then cancelled by BA. At the time, it was cheaper to book a new flight (and cancel the old booking) than just accepting the change in time. BA refunded only the cash portion and (presumably) made the previously used eVouchers available again (I have not checked this is actually the case). Is this how things are meant to be? Imagine the flight had been close to their expiry date with no way to use them in time?

Related to this, are there any good options to turn eVouchers into cash? I suppose that they could, in principle, be sold but ideally I’d like to avoid this…

When I have had a flight only booking paid or even part paid with a voucher that was then cancelled I have got a full cash refund for the cost of the flight so it looks like something has gone wrong here.

If you still have the e-voucher number (will start 125-) then try a dumnmy booking and see if BAs systems say it is valid or not. If it’s the latter then I would call / use BA chat.

As for selling your voucher personally I wouldn’t do it overtly but if you perhaps had a family member or friend wanting to make a booking you could come to some sort of arrangement for you to be reimbursed for it.
