Hi All
BA cancelled my March 2022 Tokyo flight back in Dec 21. It was booked with Avios and companion voucher. Link to get proper refund from MMB was used on 29 Dec.
Still no refund to date. Phoned numerous times only to get cut off to no avail.
I’m running out of options. Should I just sit tight or keep chasing? Anyone suggest a better number to phone than the standard they give out. I wait ages to get through only to be passed to another team which never answers.
Thank you.
It’s up to 30 for the cash but if the avios and 241 haven’t come back then something’s gone wrong. Try a Twitter message, they take about a week to get back to you initially but once they get to you they are pretty efficient.
Same issue here. Two club world flights booked with Avios and 2 4 1 cancelled pre Xmas. No refund yet and MMB just says it is being processed. No joy calling up and annoyingly now want to rebook but don’t have the Avios back to do so.
Found online chat good for chasing refunds. Successfully chased return of two 2-4-1 from summer 21 bookings cancelled by BA. Be clear which element you are most after (eg Amex voucher in my case) as seems different departments deal with different elements (eg Avios & cash not returned except the voucher which I don’t mind for now) & I advised on chat BA are WITHHOLDING voucher (or whichever component you after) without reason and keen to use it! Outline clearly date of refund request and contacts made so far. They they somehow acted/escalated after The chat. Plus everything is documented if you hit Save after chat.
Don’t forget that your companion vouchers will come back with the original expiry date.

That’s the problem. My voucher has a 20th Jan expiry but they are taking so long to refund it will prob now be after the expiry date which is hardly fair?!
Thanks for the tips – will try the chat/twitter route too.

@NorthernLass thanks for your advice all along as mine had 4 days til expiry when it was still withheld by BA. Eventually reappeared and duly FTV it immediately. NB BA didn’t even extend the voucher by number of days withheld when returning the voucher which they should have.
