Hi all
I would appreciate some advice.
I have a tier point run coming up on 23rd-26th September which, should all flights go as planned, will see me just make Gold by my year end date, 8th October. (Total 1130 points so just over the 1125 threshold)
I have booked a short hop Belfast to London same day return on 5th October which will net me 80 tier points. This is just a backup should something happen during the tier point run in the USA which might make me fall short of the anticipated number of tier points I Willa acquire for this run.
BA have now cancelled the outbound flight (06:45 from BHD-LCY) and have offered to book me onto a later one. This is great as it gives me the option of cancelling and getting a refund, should I not need the tier points. But, can I wait until September 27th when I return from the tier point run and let BA know what I wish to do then? ie. if all goes well and I don’t need the points, cancel this Belfast to London trip for a refund. Or, if I need the tier points to get over the Gold threshold by 8th October, accept BAs proposed new itinerary?
Thanks
