BA charging full price for infant on Barclays upgrade voucher booking
Discuss today's stories:

Me and my wife booked 2 return flights in business using our separate Barclays upgrade vouchers. I just called BA to add infant to the booking and they quoted me 10% of avios and taxes of what an adult tickets without the vouchers would cost.
In the past if I’ve used the 2-4-1 or upgrade voucher via the website I’ve always paid 10% of what I paid for an infant. Not sure if the call centre in India is just trying to scam me.What have others experienced in a similar situation?
If it’s like a lot of reports on here, different agents apply different rules. It seems if in doubt hang up and try again .
The rules are (not) clear – infant pays 10% of the adult fare.
When using a voucher is that 10% of the normal adult fare or 10% of the fare paid by the adult on the booking? In the case of a cash fare where the fare is obviously variable it is effectively the latter, so certainly a good argument to try again to see if you can find someone to apply the same approach for a voucher ‘fare’.

When using the Barclays Upgrade voucher, an infant without a seat is automatically upgraded with the adult so should be charged 10% of the adult fare you paid. Call BA again and refer the agent to paragraph 25 of the terms. I think the problem has probably arisen from adding the infant after the initial booking.
They will charge the infant club fares for whatever cabin you are flying in.
The Barclays voucher doesn’t apply to their booking only yours.
When using the 2-4-1 I would posit that they charged 10% of the voucher holders ticket cost and not that of the discounted companion.
No scam.
Unfortunately I only have a week until my flight so didn’t want to delay it. I told the agent that it’s not correct and she checked with her supervisor and insisted.
Is it worth calling back and asking for a refund for the rest?
I paid the economy price for a booking in Jan using a Barclays voucher (Club Europe, booked by phone)
I agree with @Garethgerry at least some agents have some ability to do things manually for better or worse. I remember that she ran her own calculation to check what the system wanted to charge was correct
