Hi,
Quick question. I have prebooked 2 emergency exit seats on LGW to PFO as this gives more leg room the CE and its a 4.45hr flight. As I am gold it doesn’t cost anything to reserve them and I’m happy to sacrifice the meal in exchange for the £ saving given i can still use the lounge etc.
My question is, if CE gets extended back past row 12 where the Emergency exit is, do I get turfed out, or does it carry on around me and i just don’t get fed and watered?
Cheers,
J
yes you get moved down the cabin
Yes, keep an eye on it so you can at least move to better seats if this happens. Happened to us due to an equipment change recently – though it was a day-before change so we didn’t realise till we checked in and found we’d been moved from the exit row to the very last economy row!
It has possibly changed but BA doesn’t go past row 8 at LGW for CE on an A320. Not sure for an A321!

Definitely more than 8 rows on some flights I’ve done to Tenerife from Gatwick on an A321
CE cannot go past Row 12 because the leg room beyond Row 12 is tighter. There are also issues over meal storage for more than 48 people.

Yes there is a flight LGW to Tenerife on Tuesday that is 13 rows of CE on an A321 (so has absorbed the exit row). Sunday is 8 rows even though it’s full so I’m pretty sure they still don’t go past row 8 on an A320 and exit row is always in ET
LHR is different – A320 is row 12 as Rob says. A319 is row 8 or 10 and an A321 is row 14
As an aside CE really seems to be doing well for BA – Tenerife for example the cabin is at it’s max for nearly all the flights upcoming over the next 7 days and nearly full on most of them. An upcoming Prague is at max as well and nearly sold out
