Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club BA First Class Avios availability to KUL/SIN

  • 2 posts

I was wondering if anyone knows if BA offer any First Class avios seats on these routes? I understand the minimum 14 seats applies, but I can see some dates with the 14 available but that’s 8 ECO + 2 PR ECO + 4 BIZ.
Are there ever any First available?

There is no guaranteed First Class availability, and remember that much of the BA fleet doesn’t have it now.

The refurbished 777 aircraft went from 14 to 8 seats so there are few to release for Avios.

Your best bet is an A380 route which does include one of the Singapore flights, where there are still 14 seats.

Had alerts set up since Kul reintroduced.

Two First seats never came up.

If look at Seatspy at moment no First availability for even 1 seat either way from Sep 24 – Sep 25

I’m only seeing 2 avios seats available in the next 12 months:

    Outbound LHR to SIN
    18:55 BA11 Airbus A380-800 1 in First

    Return SIN to LHR
    23:05BA16 Boeing 777-300ER 1 in First

I think the slogan goes something like if you rely on seatspy, you’ll fly in Y. If you wish to travel in First like I do, take your own precautions. SeatSpy is totally unreliable for BA at least. Phantom availability and too slow to pick up real availability.

Never said relied totally on Seatspy.
Went on BA twice a day – never found First seats for Kul since reintroduced. Used to find them no problem before – was my go to when no Sin available 😀

Haha very good…seatspy must be slightly better than the BA Avios flight finder though! What’s the secret then, other than frequently manually searching for your desired F route at BA.com? Or would you have to kill me!

I don’t think seatspy is better than the Ba app reward flight finder, if doing a manual search.

Clearly seatspy’s alert service is something the BA app doesn’t offer. Just has reliability issues and should be used with that in mind.

    BA.com
    Reward Flight Finder
    Full year search

    Rinse/repeat.

But nothing showing for KUL and only very minimal to/from SIN all year.

I do have my own very rudimentary system but I find ExpertFlyer is a useful lead indicator of F seats as it is for the extra BA J availability. If you track your route there are certain patterns.

Whenever I check SeatSpy against BA.com I find major discrepancies which are inexplicable. I have raised these with SS in the past but they don’t respond. I have never used it for any other airline.

It’s far easier to get F seats on BA than Business (higher than First) on Chinese trains!
