BA Gatwick – prior evening bag drop – oversized?

Wondering if anyone knew the answer to this. Flying 6.25am on Saturday so potentially would like to use bag drop prior evening. Travelling with a couple of car seats (and kids…..) wondering if anyone knows if oversized baggage is fine the day before. I would assume yes but I can’t see anything one way or the other.

No personal experience at LGW but a large oversize bag was fine for me at EDI twilight check in last month; will just go to a holding area overnight with the standard baggage.
