Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA Gold Line Closed between midnight and 6am ?

All, anybody had this issue. Advised to call Gold-line a few minutes before midnight/1am to book using Amex BOGOF. No issue with outbound flight. Called two weeks later at 0045 to book return flight and found BA Gold Line was closed. As a result had to book online and found that I was unable to get the tickets I wanted. Phoned to complain and was told that in British Summer Time it is only the US Customer Line that is open until 1am and not the BA Gold Line. Am highly dubious of this as prior to this they told me that their internal systems advised that all call centre opening hours had been changed to reflect the clocks going forward. Also if true feel very let down as the person on the BA Gold Line who advised me so successfully how to obtain my outbound ticket would have known and it was he who advised the change in release of flights from midnight to 1am once the clocks change so he would have also advised me to call the US customer line (which is received in the same UK office as the Gold Line).

Feel very aggrieved as this trip was for my honeymoon. Anybody else had this issue

If you have a look at the threads and articles here on booking by phone with the companion voucher you’ll find lots of information about calling one or other of the overseas call centres to do this which is the most successful method people tend to use. The US call centre has been reported as refusing to book inbound legs, though so it may not have helped you anyway – people seem to have more success with Japan and India.

If you post details/dates of your honeymoon trip people might be able to suggest alternatives which would still get you back using the voucher.
