Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club BA Gold member flying CX using Avios

  • 80 posts

Hi travelling on CX in business class tomorrow ,LHR-HKG flight booked using avios through British airways I’m a gold member

I’ve checked in and printed boarding pass , the lounge invitation is saying I have access to the business class lounge , a little confused as it should show the first lounge as a emerald member

Under MMB it has my BA membership number , wondering if it’s been knocked out when checking in online hence why the lounge invitation is businsss or is this normal ?

Doesn’t matter, just show your BP with OWE

Same entrance to CX F and J lounge in LHR anyway

Just update , no access to first lounge even though I have BA gold status (emerald member) travelling business on CX directed to business lounge due to it being busy and it not having the invitation on the lounge pass (not sure I really believed any of that)

Someone else encountered the same as could hear them talking in the lounge about it

Yeah it does happen when the F lounge is busy, and you being on a CX flight would mean it’s probably peak period. You’d definitely get in as OWE when it’s quieter, I’ve got in on an economy ticket with BA & business with AY fairly recently.

The F area is quite small, so if the F cabin is full they do reject people not in F. If the J cabins are really full they will occasionally reject people not on CX from the whole lounge

The invitation allows you to skip a BP check, but not if you are bringing a guest
