Hi
I was offered from a friend BA Gold status My year end is end of Dec 2024 how long will I be able to enjoy the Gold status
Does it depend on his TP year end or his membership year end or my membership year end
I would appreciate if someone can clarify
Why not just take it and then see how it shows on your BAEC? (all TP years are now the same)
Poor advice because they clearly are not the same yet! They will be on April 1st 2025
And it does matter as it’s only until the end of your TP year and the one after. Getting it on 1st April 25 means it’ll be for 2 years. But they will only be able to gift it before their GGL year expires
I would check flyertalk as there’s alot of discussion on GGL’s gifting gold status
My point is that unless you don’t need gold until April 2025 (and you can guarantee your friend will be able/willing to gift it to you at that point) Gold now is better than no Gold.
There’s at least one thread about GGL gifted status on flyertalk.
Assuming this is what is involved, see…

…though it’s a long thread, so might be best read it end to end (which I haven’t!)
