Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club BA Holidays credit card surcharge applied

  • 13 posts

    Hi

Paid the balance today on a BA Holidays booking using AMEX Platinum. Credit card filled in automatically using Safari auto fill so I didn’t think much of it. Noticed after that a credit card surcharge has been applied? From some reading across flyertalk it suggests this is an IT glitch if corporate card is selected, which may have happened automatically, although I can’t see anything like that.

Has anyone had any luck getting BA to refund without hassle? At the bottom of
My confirmation email it states ‘The price of your ticket includes a credit card surcharge of xx.xx’ it is less than £50 but will rather have it back if it is an incorrect charge.

    Thanks
    Steve

I had this exact issue recently. It’s a BA IT glitch that marks certain Amex cards as corporate when they’re not. If you spot it (which I did not, the first time), you can manually correct it before paying.

I emailed BA Holidays. Within a week I got an email response adjusting the outstanding balance to remove the charge.

Thanks. Did you use the contact form on the website or a different email address? I will make contact with them.

I also had this 18 months ago! It was only £3.50 but principle matters. I emailed them and got refunded. You can of course just phone them. It’s quite disgraceful that the IT still not sorted out but I guess it is BA.

Sorry, I’ve only just seen your question. I used the contact form.
