Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club British Airways household account – adding infant

  • travelwell 49 posts

Hi everyone, we’re trying to add our infant to our household account. We’ve created her an email, add her to the household account via invitation, click on the link , complete the form to join and it just says ‘something went wrong’. Any tips?

When I did this for my 2 and 5 year old, I just used my email address and missed out the BA executive number as obv they don’t have one! All worked fine. Maybe it’s an issue with the system at the moment? Perhaps try again later or tomorrow.

    That’s not an option I’m afraid 🙁

It states-Nominees who are already members of the Executive Club only need to accept the terms and conditions of membership to join. Non – members will also need to complete the Executive Club enrolment form.

Oh sorry, I thought you meant adding her to friends and family list. I now see household account is where you share and build up avios together.
How do young children earn avios? Is it when they have a seat booked in their name?

Sorry I can’t help and got confused! I’m sure someone on here will be able to help.

Just wondered if anyone else might have had any luck with this?

I think it’s when they are old enough for a seat but don’t quote me. My daughter has been on the household account since she was 7, with own membership number.

Might be worth a call to BA.

No issues with this last year. IIRC I was able to create an account for our newborn (using her own email address), then add to household account, then email baby@ to get the 1,000 welcome points added. Worth doing because she has managed to accrue random Avios over the last 18 months despite never having a seat.

Our two-year-old has an Exec Club account. I don’t recall setting up one being particularly hard to do.

We had a similar problem with our 2year old. It was sorted by calling BA phone line.
