Flew LHR-JFK yesterday, cabin crew announced that masks were required on the flight, then immediately made a correction – masks required only when deplaning and inside the terminal at JFK.

I think JFK is a special case and NYC still has its own mask mandate, it doesn’t apply to other US airports according to the ba.com.
