BA / QR avios new link up advice

Hi i linked my BA account to QR when QR had the 2500 bonus

If you wish to look for reward flights on QR on Qr website (using avios) do you have to transfer my avios to QR to check availability as each time I search it says I don’t have enough miles (I have 300k avios) ?

Also if I search for QR flights in BA.com using BA avios the cost is 150k return on QR to BKK in business class with approx 600 in taxes . Will the taxes and points needed be the same if booking through QR website and will they have more availability on the flights as BA website is showing QR flights with rubbish connections

In theory, now everything has settled down, you should see identical Avios and taxes requirements for QR flights on both websites. There are some occasions where you don’t but in 95% of cases it matches. Book via BA as its easier to cancel.

The only reason to book via QR is that the site may show you different flights which for some reason the BA website fails to pick up. This could be due to connecting times etc.

Note that some flights the QR website shows are ‘double Avios’ services – BA doesn’t offer these but you are unlikely to want to book them via Qatar either given the cost!
