Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

    Hi all,
It would be great to hear your experiences.
We cancelled two BA reward flight bookings on 29th March because our travel plans changed. All avios and vouchers credited back to our BAEA immediately.
The money from one booking was back in my account within 3 or 4 days.
The money from the other booking has still not been received.
We have called BA a number of times and are getting nowhere. Raised the customer relations form online and getting no response.
Anyone else had similar issues? How long did the money take to get back to you? Any tips on who I can contact to actually get some sense from them?
    Thanks!!

What do you mean when you say you got nowhere on the phone? Did they give you a timescale?

Refunds have been very quick recently, but I think 30 days is the minimum you would reasonably expect to wait before chasing it up. If it then goes another couple of weeks, it sounds like something has definitely gone wrong, and if BA don’t investigate, you could consider a chargeback/dispute with your credit card.

Yes, raising a dispute with Amex was our next port of call.

BA have been in touch today offering 10,000 avios ‘compensation’ for the issue – so assume something isn’t right at their end although they haven’t told us what…

If you are a flyertalk member or can register there is a user BA Refund Helper you can PM To take a look – they’ve sorted out a couple of these problems before for me where I’m getting nowhere via the usual channels !
