BA unable to book Iberia flights

Hi All. I’m looking to book the inbound on my companion voucher booking (LIM-MAD) for 24th Aug 2025. I can see the date is available for booking on the Iberia app, but BA says they can’t see anything in their system.
It’s weird because they can’t see 20th Aug too, even though on the app it’s showing that only one seat is available for that day.

I have tried with two different agents. Is there anything else I can do? Considering 19-20th Aug are already almost gone and my outbound is booked, I don’t want to risk waiting for too long.

I think the issue here might be that BA can’t see award seats until they appear on their own system at T-355, or something like that.

IIRC, there may be a way around this – it has been discussed previously in the long thread on using the 2-4-1 on Iberia and/or Aer Lingus.

@as02 – I assume you are trying to book with a companion voucher as otherwise you could book directly with Iberia. While a passenger can’t see it on BA.com, when Iberia releases reward seats at the usual T-360, you can definitely book these seats over the telephone with BA. While BA has its own reservation system in the background, call centre staff are looking at the same system as Iberia staff. I think the issue is that you are seeing phantom availability on Iberia for which you wouldn’t be able to complete a booking. I have looked at 24 Aug next year and there are unlimited business and PE reward seats, so it doesn’t look remotely real. You shouldn’t be able to book for 24 Aug 2025 on the same date in 2024 for any type of ticket.
