Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help BA2039 on 20th December showing one day delay

Im due to fly to Orlando today at 1pm and BA is now showing that the flight is delayed until 7.55 tomorrow morning, although I’ve had no email or text notification.

It currently 5.45 UK time and I’m wondering if this is just an automated system message (and it may actually go today) or if I should be calling BA and asking for a re-route (even with a connecting flight from Heathrow).

Any help or suggestions would be gladly received!

It’s late here in the US and I have seen that BA had an outage in the last 3/4 hours and many flights have been delayed or cancelled that were due to be flying from the US tonight.

Your flight could be caught up in the fall out from this. Have you checked in and is your boarding pass showing the new flight times?

Covered in BBC News too – expect a lot of delays over the next 24 hours for long haul as inbound aircraft, heavily delayed are then late turning around.

At least one LGW aircraft got stuck overnight (in Antigua) which I suspect caused the overnight delay to your flight

You can call BA and ask for a reroute including on other airlines but I imagine flights are very busy (and there may be some cancellations out of LHR as multiple aircraft based there are stuck downroute)

Looks like it’s going at 4.30pm and Cancun took the overnight delay instead

According to the OPs FT post they have been rebooked via ORD.
