So, here’s a curious one. I recently took a 3 sector trip on RJ (with MH codeshare) from CDG-AMM-BKK-KUL and return to take my 1020 TP across the line for Gold status. The first 4 sectors took place during my old TP collection year (ended 8 Feb) and the last 2 during the shortened TP collection period that ends on 31 Mar. BA have quickly added the outstanding avios to my account but the TPs are creating a problem. My current TP collection period has been correctly credited with 280 TPs but the 360 TPs from the first 4 sectors show 0 TP. I am told that, because my old TP collection period has effectively expired, the 360 TPs have been added to my Lifetime TP pot instead. As the old TP collection period still shows 1020 TP (shows as -1020), this leaves me short of the finishing line for Gold. I have been on to the BAEC to explain the problem and highlight the fact that all flights between 1 Apr 24 and 31 Mar 25 should determine my status for next year, but they seem blissfully unaware of this process stating that TPs from the previous year are spent. The problem is compounded by the language difficulties I sometimes encounter as the BAEC call centre is in a faraway land. Any advice? Ideally I would like to send an email explaining the issue, which might be easier for the receiver to comprehend, but I cannot find one. Has this happened to anyone else?
Something might happen to your account over the next few days as we get over Feb 8th plus 14 days hump, so hold fire.
What you are seeing is correct as far as it goes. When your old TP year ended on Feb 8th you had 1020 TP so that is correctly shown as the negative adjustment. Flights from before Feb 8th that don’t credit until after Feb 8th also correctly appear as 0TP because they don’t count for this ‘year’, i.e. Feb 9th – Mar 31st. They are added to the Lifetime balance as you’ve been told and last years total, but that will not affect the -1020 adjustment as that has already been made.
As @Richie has suggested the ‘missing’ TP should be included in the transitional year adjustment, so sit tight for now and see what that contains.
Richie/AndrewT – many thanks…hopefully this will sort itself out from what you have both said.
You would have got an email in mid January explaining the process.
That email says transition avios would be added to accounts within 14 days. So we’re not quite at that point yet.
Patience is a virtue her wonders to behold.

Thanks for the advice prompting me to sit tight. My TP adjustment has just landed but, for some reason, it still does not contain the last 4 flights taken in my previous TP year – BA have merely credited the 1020 points I had accrued earlier in the year and the 280 points from the current, shortened, TP collection period. My tally stands at 1300 even though I should have another 360 TPs, which is enough to make me Gold. Any advice? I’ve spoken with BAEC, but I’m not convinced they get it.
When were the flights for 360TPs taken?
When were the flights for 360TPs taken?
27 Jan CDG-AMM, 28 Jan AMM-BKK, 28 Jan BKK-KUL, 8 Feb Kul-BKK. All badged as o TP.
The other 2 flights back to AMM/CDG occurred on 9 Feb and were correctly remunerated. Some flights with MH flight numbers in certain booking classes do not earn TPs, perhaps do a thorough check with your records.
If they are TP earning sectors, then they may be adjusted over the next few days. Some flights with MH flight numbers in certain booking classes do not earn TPs, perhaps do a thorough check with your records.
If they are TP earning sectors, then they may be adjusted over the next few days.Maybe, but I should have enough TPs from the RJ sectors to get me over the line even if the MH sectors don’t qualify. I think my main problem is that the TPs have been credited to my Lifetime TP pot so they are not ‘missing’. I understand why they did that for admin purposes (see AndrewT’s reply), but they’ve now failed to incorporate those points into my TP adjustment and that’s my issue.
Give the Silver line a call, if you don’t get clarity, HUACA.

Yep, I have engaged with the good folk on the Silver Line, but their system sees the issue as closed and I’m not convinced they fully understand the TP transition process as well as the HfP subscribers do. I’ve asked them to escalate things, but I don’t get a comfortable feeling tbh.
Excuse my ignorance – HUACA?Hang up and call again.
👍
Now you know where you are you should be able to submit a clear problem statement.
The tier points from my three flights xxx (as per your details above) which were flown in the previous TP collection year ending Feb 8th have not been included in the Tier Point Collection Year Change adjustment which was added to my account on Feb 24th (assuming it happened today as mine did).

Thanks AndrewT, I think you’re right. Would you recommend submitting that through the Missing Avios/Tier Point portal or perhaps by email to someone? If the latter, can you recommend a good address?
