Bags Lost Compensation

Hello,
I flew in from Cairo today and BA just announced that none of the bags will come out today due to “logistical issues”.

I booked using my BA Amex, am I eligible for any compensation?

Is the UK home? If so no ability to go out and buy essentials. But if on holiday in the UK then definitely go out buy essentials and bill to BA.

You hopefully logged the bags as missing at LHR? If so BA will try to locate luggage and deliver it to your home. Apparently a lot of BA flights both departing LHR and arriving at LHR tonight have not got luggage loaded due to staff shortages.

BA is in a mess at the moment. I’m glad I’m not travelling over Easter. Not that I’d be able to anyway having tested positive for Covid yesterday.

Yes, UK is home. Thankfully bags came out 11:45ish, gave me enough time to catch the last tube out of T5.
