I have a closed BAPP with a statement balance of £5000. I’ve had a few refunds come in after statement date and the “minimum payment” due has adjusted to reflect the refunds so c. £4500. Question is – what do I actually pay to amex to clear the last bill? I don’t want to deal with the faff of paying the actual statement balance of £5000 then sending statements to get a credit balance refund.
Any advice would be very helpful.
Thanks all!
Pay what you owe them – assuming no more refunds to come – £4500.
The refunds count as payments towards the original £5000.
I’ve paid the difference and the balance due is now £500 with £0.00 minimum payment due on 9 Sep – so looks like the above comment is wrong.
Credits after the statement date to not count in terms of settlement. Pay balance then ask AE for refund which is processed pretty quickly
Despite having a statement balance I can’t make any further online payments as it says this card is now closed.
