Forums Payment cards American Express BAPP bonus Avios trigger down to 3k? (from 6k)

My 2 year anniversary missed the extra 30k (60k total) signup bonus by 8 days which was gutting but this was an unexpected nice surprise – is this something to do with the 241 changing to 15k spend next week? Surely not?

Just noticed further down the page it still says 6k, so something has gone wrong somewhere.

I suspect I know which one is right 😅

    New Cardmember Welcome Offer
Collect 30,000 bonus Avios when you spend £6,000 in your first three months of Cardmembership. Terms apply.

I think this one is still the right paragraph.

Yeah I suspect you are right. I’ll find out very soon.

But it’s hell of a misleading typo above it.

30,000 bonus Avios is waiting for you
when you spend £3,000 in your first three months of Cardmembership. Plus, a Companion Voucher in any cabin, including business and first class when you spend £15,000 in a Cardmembership year.

Quick update – i phoned Amex this morning to query the threshold and was told it was 6k, as expected. I then talked the Amex staff member through the steps to see the where it says 3k on the website (ie the front page of the card!) and he said ‘yes i can see’ etc. i explained that i would not have applied if it was 6k and felt it was misleading. He told me it was a mistake and he would put a note on the account to say to trigger the bonus for me at 3k, and that i would need to call to ask for a member of staff to manually action this when i spend 3k.

i asked him to confirm if the call was recorded, and of course have lots of screen grabs. Lets see what happens.

Its still there btw. Be interesting to see how long its there for, i suspect i wont be the only who queries this.
