Hi
I have a BAPP Companion voucher so my understanding is I can use it for travel starting outside the UK.
It I call will they let me book FCO-LHR-SFO//SFO-LHR-MAN as a return using Avios? Would there be a more sensible way of achieving this using Avios?
I’d fly via MAD but award on IB MAD-SFO seems virtually non-existent.
You can call and ask them to book that, or you can book the outbound with your voucher then either call to add the return, or book it at the full avios price and ask BA to refund 50% (see Rob’s articles and the 241 threads here if you don’t know about these options).
But the routing is fine under the open-jaw rules. Just remember that the LHR-MAN leg (as a UK domestic connection) will be free, but there will be an avios and cash charge for the FCO-LHR sector.
Thanks for that. Main concern was routing.
I’m always worried about the adding the return bit (never encountered amazing BA service) but it does seem that it’s a fairly common thing so probably won’t encounter any issues.
Looking at seats, it does feel like having the BAPP Companion voucher opens up a fair bit of extra inventory.
Thanks
