Hi,
Made a payment towards my statement balance on 4th March which is showing as being taken, but the statement balance itself hasn’t updated.
Anyone had similar issues?
I know from experience it’s not the quickest to update but the cleared payment is showing on the account activity below.
It doesn’t actually change from the full amount when you get the statement, it does make it difficult to calculate what you’ve got left owing if you make multiple payments.
So in my app, it’s showing current balance, and then below that statement balance, but it’s only the first figure which changes.
Thanks, but I’m sure this was always previously updated to reflect any payments made.
Basically I’m trying to now clear the balance but it’s only giving me the full statement balance option to pay which means I’ll be overpaying (by the previous amount I already paid).
Will try calling them later again – gave up just now as I was on hold an hour.
I’m pretty the avios card has always been like that, I’ve had it 3 years now.
Don’t you get an option to pay “other amount”? I cleared my balance last month in 3 installments.
Not Barclaycard Avios, but Bcard cashback. Just having a rant at their incompetence.
It’s now 10 days since any transaction posted to my account transaction page, the pending transaction field has been stuck at £1098 since 2nd March, the summary page shows transactions as they happen but since the list is only 7 lines long and I’ve used it for 30+ transactions since then it’s useless to me.
Diabolically inept way to run a financial service.
(and don’t tell me to use the app, I did once, and deleted it after 5 mins)
I’ve since spoken to them – they admitted it sounds like a glitch but asked me to check that it had the latest app update installed (which it already had).
It’s utterly shambolic – having to make a mental note of what my remaining balance is after payments because of this useless app.
I knew there was a reason I gave up on this card the first time round.
Amex is seamless in comparison.
is there no “credit available” amount ? from which you can deduce your balance owed…
now 12 days since anything posted to my transaction page, or updated on the pending transactions amount. Today is statement day, we’ll seee what happens tomorrow. It’s impossible to contact them by live chat, everything i try is either not relevant or I’m told I need to call which isn’t an option from overseas when I have no minutes on my plan.
is there no “credit available” amount ? from which you can deduce your balance owed…
That only gives you the total outstanding, not how much of it is due by the next payment date which is what the OP is having to work out.

Good point !!
I am still waiting to hear back from my Barclays Avios Card application – now in to week 6 of them “checking” it, for the second time.
Painful company to engage with.
Our Barclays HH and avios cards are like this. The transaction lists are very clear, though, so it’s not too difficult to subtract any payments you’ve made from the overall balance (or minimum payment).
Barclaycard’s website has decended into farce now. If I click on the Transactions tab it just says “there has been a problem” and logs me out. Pending transactions total still shows the value from 2nd March.
Statement has been issued a day late and is downloadable.
I can’t make a complaint to them without telephoning which isn’t an option. Think I’m going to ditch it and start using my Halifax Clarity again. Losing out on 0.25% cashback is not worth caring about.
