Barclaycard Avios card query

Hi all, hope someone can advise on this one. I’ve recently acquired the Barclaycard Avios card for the sign up bonus of 25k avios. When I’ve registered the card and set up my account is showing the new card but also an old Barclays Freedom card which hasn’t been used in over a year (they sent me a letter which said as this wasn’t being used for a few years would be cancelled or words to that effect). Will I still receive the bonus? I don’t want to do the 3k spend if no bonus payable. As I understood no bonus on any previous avios cards in the past 2 years, or any other barclaycard within 6 months. So im unsure why this card is also showing on the new account if inactive 😕

It should have said during the application process about the welcome bonus, but in principle you should be eligible if you haven’t previously held one of the two Avios cards. The six month rule is entirely separate from the two year gap needed to be eligible for another Avios card bonus. The app should show a wheel with progress towards the 25k bonus to give reassurance.

Hi thanks for the reply, for some reason the app won’t let me view any accrued avios, comes up with a message saying service not available at this time, I’ll try again in a few days.

Does anyone know the current expected time for Barclays to process a new Barclaycard Avios Plus application?

Instead of starting a new thread –

Has anyone else gone into the Barclays app this morning and found all their details have disappeared? Mine now shows an offer for a car loan and tells me I don’t appear to have any cards! Really hope it’s another temporary Barclays IT uselessness.
