Anyone who is on an Android device will be aware that Barclaycard Avios is especially backwards in not usable on Google Pay contactless. It’s unbelievably inconvenient if you’ve become used to using your phone 99% of the time!
But…
This thread implies it is now available for Barclaycard Visa Cashback cardholders https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6538433/barclaycard-finally-on-google-wallet
And the new Amazon (Visa) Barclaycard works with Google Pay but bizarrely (explicitly) doesn’t work with Apple Pay…! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BH98211K
Sadly, Barclaycard Avios (which is a Mastercard) still not working for me when I try.
But perhaps light at the end of the tunnel…??
Get a Curve card, link the Barclaycard to it and then add the Curve card to Google Pay. Problem solved.
For large purchases where you might be nervous about Section 75 protection etc use the physical Barclaycard but otherwise this works fine.
When Barclays finally added Google Pay support to their debit cards a couple of years ago, a few months after support was enabled there was a generous cashback offer but only for customers who hadn’t already added their card to Google Pay.
For that reason, I’d advise sticking to Curve for the time being.
Just added my Barclaycard Rewards card, I have tried periodically and it hasn’t worked, until now.

Just tried to add my Avios Rewards Plus Mastercard (the black one), and it failed. Are you referring to the same card?

No, the card he tried to connect has no relevance to the avios cards. Unfortunately the latter are still unsupported

No Barclaycwrd products worked at all on Amdroid and Apple Pay, they had their own Contacless Mobile NFC platform originally, which they closed last summer. Now they seem to be rolling it out slowly across the range. Best to keep trying periodically. I’m sure it will come.
Had an email this morning from Google Pay to say that Barclaycard can now be added. Of course it only seems to be the standard Barclaycard Visa, as mentioned above. My Avios Barclaycard will not work yet.
I received that email too. The email shows an animation of the Barclaycard Platinum Visa.
I tried to add my MasterCard to Google wallet and it came up with the unsupported message. The Google docs haven’t been updated yet and still only have the visa debit cards listed as supported for Barclays.

Is it possible to link the Virtual Curve Card or you need the physical curve card?
