Barclaycard Avios Plus new application

I’ve been a Barclays premier customer for over 12 months now, I recently applied for the Barclaycard Avios Plus card online and was accepted with £18k limit (seems a bit high?)

My questions are,

Does the system know to link this application to my premier current account to qualify for the 100k bonus? Name and address same, however I said my Barclays account isn’t my main account during the application (it isn’t – income goes into Natwast) so did not enter Barclays details.

How long does card take to realistically arrive? putting off some urgent purchases in case the card arrives in the 3-5 working days as stated.

Hopefully it will all join up for you automatically, but details have to match exactly. It’s taken me 6 months to get everything linked. I put my middle name on the BC application which I didn’t use when opening a student account at Barclays decades ago.
I have been waiting 8 days and counting for a replacement card. Ironically given the trouble people have been having using apple pay, my card was apparently compromised… it had been linked to apple pay despite me not having an iPhone.
Remains to be seen if I will get 25k avios promised before I got things linked, the 100k promised after they were linked, or nothing at all.

Have you also switched on Avios Rewards at £12pm, or already had it? As you need to have both the Avios Plus card, and Avios Rewards (and at least one of them needs to be a new product taken in the promotional period) to qualify for the 100k. As you have newly taken the Plus card, you would qualify presuming you have Avios Rewards on too, whether now or you already had it.
