Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Barclaycard/Barclays App Error

Had a Barclaycard Platinum that I closed back in May of this year.

Have successfully applied for and received the Avios Plus card.

Upon logging into the online Barclaycard portal with previous login details from the Platinum Card, Avios card was already registered etc. – activated all OK and no further issues here.

I registered on the Barclaycard/Barclays app however it shows me no cards registered and no option add or link a card.

I’m guessing this is due to the previous registration of the (now closed) Platinum card and for some reason it’s not linking the new Avios card to my app registration, despite entering the Avios card details when registering/setting the app up again.

Does anyone else have a similar experience? The online/app chat are useless and just tell me to check again later and it “should be there”, which we all know isn’t true 🙂

    This is somewhat resolved now.

My App registration was still linked to my old Platinum Visa card that I closed earlier in the year, and not linked to my new Avios Plus card – it seems their App registrations and online banking registrations are separate, which is madness.

So I can now see my Avios Plus card, and the transactions – I had to manually link it to my BA Avios account (despite entering my Avios number on the application form), but some things are still trying to link to my old Platinum card and error out in the app.

Hopefully this will be fixed by the end of the week.

I still can’t see my new Barclaycard on my Barclays app, I’ve been told by cs it is an known issue and told not to use the Barclaycard app if I have a current account with them.

As an IT person, it must be some sort of batch and botch script that to tie two systems together.
